About Us

Our History

In 1945, out of a small carriage house in Norwood, MA, inMetal began as a vision shared by our founders, Evelyn and Charles Perry.

Evelyn, a true pioneer, took over the business in 1968 and became the company's president at a time when women were rarely in leadership positions, especially in male-dominated industries. Her leadership was marked by innovation, determination, and a drive to grow the business. Under her guidance, inMetal thrived, navigating dramatic changes in technology, capabilities, and economic conditions.

Evelyn ran the business alongside her son, Craig Perry, starting in the 1980’s until her retirement in 2020. Throughout this time, our company became a trusted leader in the field of precision sheet metal fabrication. Originally known as Industrial Metal Products (IMPCO), our re-brand as inMetal in 1997 marked a new chapter in our evolution. Today, operating out of a 40,000-square-foot facility in Sharon, MA, inMetal continues to adapt and succeed despite the ongoing changes in the manufacturing sector.

After working for 75 years, Evelyn retired at the age of 94 in 2020. She passed away in 2024, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. Today, Craig proudly carries forward her vision, ensuring inMetal remains a company built on the values she instilled: innovation, dedication, outstanding service to our customers, and a passion for quality.
